Tom Frey, (pictured right with Steve Grosswald, Executive Director & Founder of Mission Philadelphia) was working on a plumbing job in May during the pandemic in Center City. While unloading tools from his box truck emblazoned with information about Blessing Begs and feeding the homeless, a man in his 30’s approached Tom and handed him $2. Tom was puzzled as he has handed out over 25,000 Blessing Bags in over 3 years; but, never given a donation.

The man, Jimmy, told Tom that in 2018, he was homeless and hungry and his life, literally, depended on Blessing Bags and the generosity of other charities. He said “Without you, I might be dead now. Instead, I have home, a job, a wife and a child on the way.”
